  • Indonesians like to establish relationships.

  • The greeting process is very important so always shake hands with your business  partner.

  • Do not feel surprise if you are being ask about your family and private life.

  • Try to send a senior employee, who is in a position to make on-the-spot decisions.
  • Make time available to meet your business partner outside business hours for other social events.
     
  • Humble negotiations
  • Get up to-date information in your industry
  • Be friendly, Indonesians place great emphasis on personal relationships.



 

Don’ts

  • Offer business card with your left hand, nor receive anything from someone with your left hand.
  • Show someone else the soles of your feet as it considered highly discourteous in Indonesia : it is safer not to cross your legs when sitting.
  • Standing with your hands on your hips or with your arms folded is regarded as aggressive and rude in a business meeting
